Green Peas Masala and simple chutneys..!

Hope all are doing great!!:)

Here i bring for you delicious simple dishes, try and enjoy!

1. Green Peas Masala:

This is one of my favourite.. My amma makes it so well, i will eat it with idli/dosa and also mix with rice and eat.. love it!



Ingredients:

1. Green peas - 1 cup,
2. Onion - 2 chopped finely,
3. Tomato - 1 big chopped finely,
4. Garlic cloves - 2 chopped finely,
5. Curry leaves - 1 string,
6. Green chilly - 1 slit lengthwise,
7. Fennel seeds - 1 tsp crushed,
8. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp,
9. Red chilly powder - 2 tsp,
10. Salt - as needed,
11. Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup ground to paste,
12. Oil - for frying,
13. Cilantro for garnish.

How to make this?

1. Heat oil in kadai, add the crushed fennel seeds, now add the onions, green chilly, garlic, curry leaves and saute till they turn transparent.
2. Add the tomatoes, saute till they mash. Add the peas, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt and the coconut paste.
3. Saute well to coat the masalas, add enough water for cooking. Put on medium high flame for 5mins. Cover cook if needed.
4. When the water evaporates, add oil on the sides and fry them till the required consistency(gravy/dry).
5. Adjust taste and garnish with cilantro.

Tastes excellent with idli/dosa/chappathi, plain rice/curd rice/sambar rice..! Enjoy!

2. Coriander tomato chutney:

This is a delicious tangy flavourish chutney. Try and enjoy!



Ingredients:

1. Coriander leaves/Cilantro - 1 bunch,
2. Tomato - 1 chopped,
3. Garlic cloves - 2,
4. Red dry chilly - 3,
5. Salt - as needed,
6. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp,
7. Urad dhal - 1 tsp,
8. Asefeotida powder - 1 pinch,
9. Oil - for frying,
10. Curry leaves - 1 string.

How to make this?

1. Heat oil in kadai, add the chilly, garlic and saute a little and take it out. Put the coriander leaves and saute a little, add the tomatoes and saute well till mashed. Cool this.
2. In a blender, add the sauted things, salt and grind in to a fine paste. Convert to serving bowl.
3. Heat oil in kadai, add the urad dhal, mustard, asefeotida and saute till the dhal turns light brown. Add the curry leaves and pour it on the chutney.
4. Mix well and serve.

Delicious chutney to be relished with idlis/dosas..! Enjoy!
