Green Peas Masala
Its a dry fry masala. You can make it semi gravy by adding more water. Its very simple and goes well with Chapathy,Pratha,Poories,Appom and Naan bread. Ingredients: Green peas - 1/2 cup soaked for 6 hours or fresh peas 1 cup.Onion- 1 big Shallots- 8 numbers Ginger/garlic paste- 1 tablespoon Pepper pwd- 1tsp Masala Powder- 1/2 tsp Fennel powder- 3/4 tsp (can be replaced with cumin if you like) Turmeric- 1/4 tsp Green chillies- 2 Tomatoes- 1 small chopped Curry leave Coriander leaves Oil- 2 tbps Salt Method: Pressure cook the soaked chicpeas with 1/2 cup water and keep aside.Don't throw the excess water away.If you are using fresh peas omit this step.Heat oil in a pan and add gingergarlic followed by chopped onions,shallots, chillies split into two and curry leaves. If you are using tomatoes saute at this point. Saute until golden brown.Reduce the flame and then add the masalas and saute for few minutes until the raw taste of the masala goes. Add the cooked chicpea along with the water or the fresh peas with a cup of water. Add salt to taste. Cook for 5 more minutes until the gravy is thick or add more water if you need a bit more gravy. Open the lid and mix in the chopped coriander leaves. Switch the fire off and transfer to a serving bowl. We enjoyed with fresh Phulka Roti.... related searches : Green
