Groundhog day
Training: Run 8km (?)
This morning I was up at 4.30am so that I could travel to Sydney for work. I expected to be home late, but the meeting wrapped up early so I was on a return flight by 3pm. It was nice to actually arrive home earlier than expected for once. As soon as I got home I changed, put on my sneakers and headed out for a run. I was a little lethargic due to the early morning and I knew that if I sat down I would probably not exercise. And, as is often the case, the run left me feeling energised. It's strange how that happens.... I was supposed to run 7km, however I completed the route that I had mapped out in around 51 minutes. That means I either ran a very slow 7km, or as I suspect, the route was in fact longer. I estimate that it was probably around 8km, but I will get out my bike over the weekend to check the distance using the trip computer. Dinner Tonight's dinner was, as predicted, a repeat of last night's beef bourguignon. However, instead of boiling the potatoes, I opted for a simple mash which I figured would help soak up the rich gravy. I think you can just see some mash poking out from underneath?? The flavours had continued to develop overnight, resulting in a very rich and aromatic dish. The meat had broken down a bit though, so the gravy ended up being quite thick tonight. Let?s just say there was not a mouthful left! Happy baking :) related searches : Groundhog Day
