Guest Post: Onion Dip & Veggie Chips

By Megans Munchies (Visit website)

This recipe is fun, easy and has a lot of room to experiment with. Depending on my mood and occasion, I like to add herbs, veggies and a touch of spice ? you really can?t go wrong. You can either stick with the basic recipe or add more stuff for flavor ? either way, it?s always delicious.

Dip:

1 Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion Soup Pouch

1 16 oz. container of sour cream

1 small bunch of chives

1 tsp. parsley

1 small clove garlic

Directions:

I blend everything together (by hand) starting with the onion pouch and sour cream. I then put in chives for color and texture, parsley for the same reason and a little bit of garlic. Then, depending on the situation, I add other things. Sometime red peppers, pimentos, chopped basil, green peppers, tomatoes, jalapeños and the list goes on and on. The great thing about his recipe is it?s onion based; everything else you put it in will just accent the onion flavor.

Chips Options:

I use Trader Joe?s Veggie Chips (French Fry Cut) Trader Joe?s has a wide variety of veggie chips, which I prefer over other chips for the health factor.

After I?ve finished, I always put it in a nice bowl and decorate it with your choice of dipping favor. Real vegetables work great and taste delicious too! One great tip: throw it in the fridge for a few hours before serving so the flavors mix together better. This is so easy and everyone who loves onions loves this one. It?s great for kiddo snacks too but if you?re having friends over and don?t have a lot of time to cook ? this recipe works like a charm every time. Bon appétit!
