Guest Post: Please Support Becca!

A message from my marathon-running friend, Becca…

On April 20th, I will be running the legendary 26.2 mile course from Hopkinton, MA to Boston, MA hoping for a personal best in the 113th B.A.A. Boston Marathon! This will be my third marathon, but first one training with the Boston Medical Center (BMC) charity. I have to support the city I live in now, and I hope you will support me and the BMC. The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon and one of the most prestigious. I am thrilled to have an official bid number through BMC. I went through a challenging application process and competed against many candidates for a spot on the team. In return for my official entry, I agreed to raise $3,000 to support BMC in its mission to provide exceptional care, without exception. I hope that you’ll support me in reaching my goal, and together we can benefit an exceptional hospital. All donations are 100% tax-deducible.

BMC is a private, not-for-profit medical center committed to providing high-quality health care to all, especially poor families, elders, and people with disabilities. As New England’s largest safety net hospital, BMC serves a patient population whose lives make them especially vulnerable to illness and disease, and for whom access to quality health care would be extraordinarily limited were it not for BMC.

The services provided by BMC would not be possible without philanthropy. With your help, I hope to raise $3,000 for BMC. Knowing that my Boston Marathon run will directly benefit BMC’s mission motivates me as I train, and will keep me inspired on Marathon Monday as I push up Heartbreak Hill and on towards Copley Square to the finish line.

Thank you so much for your support.

Becca Platt
