Hanami Dango and Mitarashi Dango
While shopping for our weekly menu, I saw dango with three lovely colors which simply means it`s spring time, cherry blossoms time.. we bought one pack and ate it on our way home. It is called hanami dango, it is made during Sakura season.. for sakura-viewing (sakura-cherry blossoms), it is a Japanese dumpling made from rice flour and best eaten with hot green tea (wikipedia). As a Filipino its similar to our bola-bola or bilo-bilo, though dango is a bit sweet and skewered. Actually there are many types of dango and I can`t discuss them well. Anyhow, as per my entry yesterday, if you could recall, my husband rushed twice to 7-eleven, he brought home another dango for me to try .. and it was mitarashi dango, grilled and covered with syrup made of soy sauce, sugar and starch (wikipedia). and here it is.. We already ate the first stick, its three in a pack.. It taste good, though I am a bit hesitant to try them but when my husband says it`s good, for sure I'm gonna love it.. So, it`s spring time,?cherry blossoms are here.. we`re off for some sakura viewing this coming weekend, we are excited..so excited that my husband checked the map of the city before eating his lunch simply means....It`s gonna be a colorful weekend! Now, I`m craving for dango.. it`s really good with hot green tea... related searches : Hanami
