HASBRO 'Travel Games' Review
As most of you know we just took a 6-hour trip to Idaho (which turned into 8 hours there and 8 hours back home). Have you ever tried to keep your kids busy so that you don't hear for the entire trip, "How much farther?" or "Are we there yet?" Hasbro knew that we were taking this car trip and sent me a few of their newest travel games. (THANK YOU HASBRO...YOU WERE A LIFESAVER!) The first game they sent was a touch screen Yahtzee Pocket Pogo electronic game. Here is Emily playing with it. She only got to play it when I wasn't. I am the top scorer on this game since I rolled 5 Yahtzee's in one game...oh yea! It actually has 4 different Yahtzee games to play but my favorite is the traditional game. Here is Emily trying to master Yahtzee! The second game we received was the Monopoly Slots Pocket Pogo electronic game. This game is pretty simple, you set your bet, and then spin the wheel to match houses, utilities, chance and more. If you receive two hotels and a wild you win a payout of 500 points. Brad navigated towards this game and so did hubby. I would find hubby playing this one a lot. Brad trying his hand at Monopoly slots! If you are a competitor you can earn rewards at Pogo.com with these two electronic games. You just sign onto your game to get the code for your 30-day membership to Club Pogo, then play to earn codes for up to 1,000,000 tokens and 3 unique badges. With your 30-day Club Pogo membership, you can: Play hundreds of exciting games, some of which are exclusive to Club Pogo Earn rewards and points Connect with a fun game-loving community Show your personality with fun profile images Have a chance to win cash and prizes I think the next game was our family's favorite! BOGGLE! This one is great because you cannot lose the contents of the game since the plastic cover is not removable. You just shake the die and they settle into their slots, you set the timer and try to find as many words with three letters or more. Brad is only 7 years old and he had fun playing this one, although his vocabulary is more limited so he obviously finds less words. Emily kept up pretty well and Dad beat us all...EVERY SINGLE TIME! I know this game will continue being a favorite. I love the portability of it too...perfect size to throw into your tote bag or suitcase and go. The timer aspect is really cool, since you push it when you are ready to start and it will go from green to red and start flashing when it is getting close to the end. It then has a beep to tell you that the game is over. Look at that concentration! :) The last game we received was Monopoly Deal Card Game. This game is a lot like the board game but in card deck form. You have your money/action cards, your properties and your play action cards. The goal of the game is to be the FIRST player to collect 3 full property sets of different colors. I would have to say this is better for older kids and parents. The age says 8+ and I agree with that. I have to say this is a great concept especially going on trips because you don't have to lug around the entire board game with all those pieces to lose. I can't wait to play this one a little more. I love Hasbro products. Our kids are now at that perfect age to play games. In fact, we are all looking forward to Family Game Night coming up in September. Last Christmas I purchased a few new games along with the Game Night Trophy which we always have fun competing for. I have to say, I am looking forward to Fall to get back into those game nights when the weather turns cold and our days are shorter. related searches : Hasbro
