Hidden Gems

By Coffee Run (Visit website)

I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my last post. It?s been quite the busy weekend but I?m ready to start fresh

Unfortunately, as of lately, my priority tree has looked like this:

tree-3

I?m thinking that School needs to be on a higher branch?

I have an exam tomorrow which I haven?t studied at all for. I know, I?m setting a bad example  This will be a true test of my cramming abilities. So, I?m going to make this post brief!

Yesterday, I had a nice + sweaty workout at the gym and refueled with a Tropical Protein Smoothie

001

Into the blender:

1 cup hemp milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Pineapple
Coconut Fluff
Spinach
Stevia
Guar Gum (for extra thickening)

Sippin? on some bubbly

006

?Twas super refreshing

And then I ran around & did some errands and stumbled upon my new favorite store.

What store would that be?

Why, it?s called the World Market. There?s imported goods from all over the world: China, Japan, India, Thailand, Turkey, Israel, etc. They had the most unique produce as well as boxed + frozen items. And the best part was that everything was so cheap! I refrained from buying the whole store, but expect to see some unique things in the near future :)

While my super bowl friends were munching on pizza & beer, I had a slightly different dinner

007

Grilled portabella + onions on sprouted grain bread –>

010

And some Smoky Miso Tofu from Vegan Yum Yum

011

I think I?ve mentioned before, but tofu shouldn?t have it?s own close-up ;) Despite it?s appearance, this was the best tofu I?ve ever had. I was a little apprehensive to use red miso but it gave the ?fu such a deep, flavorful punch and was balanced out by the sweetness from the sugar. *Love*

On the side were some grilled okra that I picked up at the World Market

014

Dipped in ketchup.

And while I was at the store, I picked up my valentines gift to myself

016

Liz Lovely assorted chocolates

017

I sampled the one in the top right hand corner (the chocolate-covered ginger) and the one in the middle at the bottom (the chocolate-covered apricots)

Along with some other chocolate-covered treats I got from the bulk bin at the store:

019

Chocolate-Covered:

Espresso Beans
Raisins
Apricot
Ginger
Curried Cashews

I thought the curried cashews sounded interesting, so naturally I bought some to try. They were actually really good. Chocolate + curry? Who would have thought?

Questions:

Are there any stores in your area that are ?hidden gems??

What?s your favorite chocolate confection?

In case you missed it, I made an anonymous Ask Anything/Say Anything box. Any questions/comments/suggestions for what you’d like to see more or less of on my blog can be entered into the box! Click Here
