How to Enter Blog Contests & Giveaways Instructions

THE SWARM AROUND BLOG CONTESTS AND HOW THEY WORK!!!!

There has been a “HUGE ” Growth in the amount of Blog Giveaways, and Contests. Every day there are hundreds created.  Some of them have smaller prizes example home made cellphone carrier, to Big Prizes like Camcorders, $500 cash etc.  So the prizes all range. Also the length of contest also is various.  Many blogs only will hold a contest for 1 or 2 weeks.

Now a days  its very confusing on all the terms bloggers use: Example Tweet, twitter, blog, button, Facebook, etc. There are so many ways to get extra entries.

But 1st Lets discuss on how to “Simply Enter” without extra entries.  No sense on confusing  you off the start. Lets just get your name into the entry.

“STANDARD LEAVE A COMMENT”   The usual leave a comment, rarely exist any more. The Newest trend amongst bloggers is Product Reviews and are getting The prizes sponsored now a days, Hence the Host of the contest (The Blog ) must try to get the advertiser seen.  So usually you will now See. “Please Visit  our Advertiser”  and tell us what you would like to buy, or What is your favorite item ? Or What did you learn? These are very common now a days.

So You must “READ” what they want to “HEAR” about in the comment field.

Sometimes You must “SEARCH for the comment Section.  Sometimes at the bottom of the post there is not a “Space” to auto enter, Sometimes there is words Like “Comment”, ” Tell us what you think” or some other kind of link. It’s usually found at the very bottom of the post.

Some Blogs have a Security Field, and want you to sign up “Example Blogger” And it is best to just sign up with “Blogger” Click Here to Get ID now. It will come in handy as you do “several blog contests.  And it’s usually pretty universal, and once you have your ID, as long as you don’t log out, you can do several contests and it will “auto ” recognize you. Hence saving you time.

“IMPORTANT” Once you have signed up for your Blogger Account, Make sure you edit your profile, and enter in your email address there.  This way, you will not have to enter email address each time, and also this will HIDE Your email address from “Spam Bots”.

You are Set as far as Now getting 1 ENTRY into your contest. That is all that is now Required. But if you really want that Prize, You may decide to work a little harder for it.

FIRST UNDERSTAND THE BLOGGER (Who is handling the Contest) wants you to usually do one or two things.

1. Wants to keep you loyal – keep coming back hence RSS Updates, newsletter,

2. Wants you to spread the word about the contest, hence bringing in traffic.

Lets Discuss: LOYALTY

  Sign up for Newsletter RSS FEEDS. Simply requires an Email Address. You usually must then go to your email and confirm your address for this one to count.  This will give you an instant email when the “blog” has been updated. Maximum email is once per day, if the blog is updated daily.



FACEBOOK FAN OR GROUP:  If you have been living under a rock, and do not know what Facebook is. It is a gathering social media Place. You can locate old friends, old coworkers etc. You must be logged into Facebook to join. So first you must have a Facebook account. Click Here to get one, No worries Facebook is free.   Most bloggers will tell you to click a link to do what they want you to do in Facebook.  So once you have facebook, and are currently logged into facebook, simply click the link, and then You have an extra entry. 

Also they may want you to Tell others about this.  To do so Share or simply Use your status update to tell others about the contest.

TWITTER: Tweet Tweet!!!! Bloggers want you to join their Flock, or Follow them on Twitter, either way, You need a Twitter Account. No worries. Again, Twitter is Free. If you do not have a twitter Account.  Twitter is a place of updated information. It’s simply another way to get updates from various blogs, websites, people, friends, etc.  When you send out a message it is called a “TWEET”. So sometimes blogs will want you to join and tweet.

So to get in on the Twitter. First you need an account. Click Here. Then you can find people or groups to join by searching out your city, province, country, or hockey groups, crafts, moms, babies, What ever your interests,  And eventually people will start following you. and you can tweet.  You can actually tweet with no followers, but this is usually how you get a following.

To Tweet: The blogger will usually give you a link to Tweet. It will look weird, or will tell you the address to copy and paste into your Twitter.  And all you have to do is Hit send.

After you tweeted. Look at your Tweets. ( found on the right hand side bar) and copy your url address ( address bar) And go back to Contest Blog, and Let that contest know you have tweeted, with the address by pasting the address in the contest blog. 

Blog about the Contest – Just write a post on your own blog and include a link back to the contest. If you want to start a blog for your contests, or your personal life. You can do so with your Blogger Account that we discussed at the beginning of this post.

Post a button on your blog - Copy the code for the bloggers button and post it in your sidebar of your blog.

Once you have all the accounts you need. You almost need to work in multiple windows. One, for blog contest, another window for Twitter,  another window for Facebook,  and another window for your email.   This way you can Multi Task, and save up your time, to do more than one contest.
