I CAN'T COOK!!! PART TWO: NEW YORK STEAK
![]() I think I am going to do a series of "I can't cook" articles. Yesterday morning I was in Savemart picking up a few things. As I was gazing at the high priced cuts of meat I spotted it! There it was, a Thick New York Steak with a $1.00 off coupon attached to it. Making the grand total for the steak $2.26. Now that's a deal. As I was in the produce section I picked up a few items including a bag of baby carrots on sale for $1.00. So for my dinner I had New York Steak, red potatoes & cooked carrots. This was so easy to make. I seasoned the steak with pepper & some McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning. I kind of put it on thick to give it a nice crunchy taste. I had three red potatoes, so with a fork I punctured holes in the potatoes & put them in a microwaveable container. I filled up another microwave container about 1/2 with water & added about a dozen or so baby carrots. I put some olive oil in my frying pan & on medium high heat then I put the New York steak in to fry. I put the three red potatoes in the microwave & set the Microwave for 5 1/2 minutes. When the Microwave beeped, I pulled out the potatoes & put in the carrots for 5 1/2 minutes. Then I flipped over the steak in the frying pan. I added some butter to the potatoes & left the lid on them to keep them warm. After the carrots were done, I pulled them from the microwave, drained out the scalding hot water from the container (Very Hot Be Careful) & added butter. I flipped the steak on more time, set my table & grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge. So there it is... A simple tasty dinner for around $5.00 & prepared in less than 15minutes! Sirloin Steak
