I gave blood
Happy Friday! It was an eventful day in the life of Mo Diva. For one, I gave blood today. Woke up early to make sure I had a good breakfast in me and opted for a yummy egg white omelet with diced zucchini. I?ve never had zukes in my eggs but wanted to bulk up the omelet so what the hell. sautéed the zukes first and then added some egg whites. salt. and pepper. When the egg white cooked up a little more i threw it in the oven on 400 for 15 mins. When it was done i sprinkled it with cheese. served it up with some grits and a few slices of avocado. REALLY Great way to start the day! Giving blood rattled me a bit. I have done it before but cant help get a little nervous. I felt a little dizzy before but breathed through it. The donation was successful and I sat at the recovery table and indulged on cookies and juice to bring my sugar level up and take away the dizziness. I felt like crap. The dude at the clinic wrapped me up with a blue bandage and all day people were pointing to the bandage saying ?Blood?? and at some point i got tired of explaining so i had a little fun. ?Oh, Mo?.(points to bandage) Blood?? (looks at Blue bandage) ?No, Crip? bunch of lawyers cracked up. I must say it was funny?.ANYWAY I continued to push fluids and opted for a vegan lunch for lots of iron and protein. . . Seaweed salad, black bean and corn salad, baked tofu, yams, Chik?n nuggets. A bit over indulged but after more water i felt even better. some wine and cheese at an office party that i didnt have a chance to take pics? but when you donate blood? the effects of alcohol hit you a lil quicker. :-) When I got home i was craving take out. But I didnt have cash and I didnt feel like getting any. I was gonna have some oats in a jar until i saw this?. ?take out? Indian fare! YES! I mean i didnt think this was going to be stellar since everything was microwaved in weird space bags?. but it was edible and it somewhat healthy. the box said it was enough for two and this is half the box? more like 3 or 4. The yellow Dahl was my favorite along with the basmati rice but the aloo matar was just okay. it was my first time having that but I think i prefer the jaipur any day witch tastes kinda like a curry. Overall it was a good day. Looking forward to tomorrow as I am hitting Central Park with my bloggies for Self Workout In the Park!!! TO ALL MY MOMMY BLOGGERS AND READERS: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY and to my parents, HAPPY 27th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!
