IHerb.com $50 Shopping Spree
A couple of weeks ago Anne P posted a fabulous recipe for Five Minute Peanut Butter Granola Bars that had me drooling on my keyboard. The recipe seemed easy enough so I bookmarked it for when I had a free minute to test it out myself. Lucky for me last night that free minute I had been waiting for finally materialized. Easy is right this recipe took no time and no effort at all to put together. The only difference between mine and Anne?s was the Fiber One Cereal I subbed for the puffed brown rice. I should have timed myself, but I?m pretty sure that it took less than 5 minutes. I let the mix sit in the fridge overnight and this morning cut into bars. Then wrapped for easy on-the-go consumption. I brought a bar to work and tested it out as my mid-morning snack. I?m not sure I could ever go back to generic granola bars again. The homemade version was easy to put together, probably a fraction of the price, and tasted amazing. I also love how customizable these bars can be! Next time I might try adding chocolate chips, dried fruit, pieces of peppermint, etc. This recipe had the Inner Workings? seal of approval! You know what else had the Inner Workings? seal of approval? Mama Pea?s Spicy African Peanut Stew Today?s stew left overs were still fabulous, especially with the addition of dried cranberries and peanuts. Gotta love the left over cornbread as well.
