Invited Review at JL Steamboat Restaurant

By Cokeworld Citizen (Visit website)

Thanks to Criz for adding my name to the list and Mr. Dennis for inviting us. This would be my 3rd time meeting up with fellow bloggers to makan just for this month. With the rate we are going, any MPPP would kaput...hahaha!

There were too many photos. So I decided to compile them into a video for easy viewing.

Like most BBQ steamboat restaurants, an array of sauce would be provided. However I did prefer to eat without adding any sauce for the original taste :)

In JL Steamboat, there are 2 stations which is the Steamboat Station and Teppanyaki Station. However, it doesn't really matter. To me, anything can go to the hotplate XD I chose to grill seafood tofu and Japanese egg tofu this time around. It was well received and we had another round of grilled tofus :D

Of course you can choose to grill other items. If you don't like tofu, you still have canned button mushrooms, crabstick, sotong balls, sweetcorns, crab (seasonal), egg and so on...LOL...I would say BBQ Steamboats is fun as we can be creative in what and how we want the food to turn out.

With four soup flavour available (Clear, Herbal, Fish & Tom Yam), there is no limit on how you want to pair the ingredients with those soups. Maggi mee, Tom Yam and oyster musrooms would be my favourite combo. However the soup was a bit bland. Would be great if they can add some lemongrass and tomatoes to the soup for some depth.

It wouldn't be complete without a Drinks & Dessert corner. Besides fruits, jelly, red bean soup and iced teas, there is a chocolate fountain! Again, its totally up to your imagination. We had the chocolate coating skewers of marshmallows, finger biscuits and ice creams...hahaha!

BBQ steamboat dinner was fun, fun and fun with a crazy bunch:
