Iron cupcake: music

wow! today is a day of firsts! my first post, and my first iron cupcake challenge!

iron cupcake is trying to catch the eye of ellen so in honor of her new gig on american idol, this month's theme is music! we had to create a cupcake based on a song title. i am a self professed music junkie so the possibilities seemed endless! this was made slightly more challenging for me as my brother's wedding is today! i woke up extra early just to have time to post this!! we grew up listening to, and loving the beatles so it seemed apropos to pay homage to him today with an "octopus's garden" cupcake!

the cupcakes are a chocolate genoise with a vanilla sea salt buttercream (recipe adapted from my favorite go to book " pretty cakes ")
