I's tired.
Upon making it home from class last night, I promptly ate dinner and hit the hay. I think I really am an 80 year old trapped in a 23 year old's body. If I don't get at least 8 hours of sleep, I am irritable and grouchy. Members of my family may argue that I am like that all the time, but I can assure you, I am not. Backing up to yesterday morning, I did an hour of slow yoga to stretch out my sore muscles. I was a bit achy from the toning exercises I did on Monday, so slow yoga felt good. Normally I do fitness type yoga where the flows move quickly, but the type I did yesterday held lots of the harder positions for longer periods of time than I'm used to. Needless to say, I felt very fluid and stretched when I was finished.
Oats in a jar! 1/3 cup quick cook oats, coconut milk, waterBanana (cooked in oats)Dash of sea salt1 tsp ground flax1/2 T peanut butter (Skippy Natural--Thad's fave)~1 T grape Polaner spreadOur network at work continued to be down throughout the morning. It wasn't back up and running until right before lunch which meant, in total, it was down for 24 hours. You really don't realize how much you rely on computers until you can't use them. I honestly can't imagine doing my job without one. It still tasted like cardboard. After lunch, I scurried around at work since I finally had a working computer. As I mentioned earlier, I was exhasted all day yesterday. I had a cup of green tea at work and it perked me up some. I also had a Larabar on my way to class which gave me a bit more energy: This wasn't my favorite flavor combination. It was a sweet-tart combo. My taste buds prefer sweet-salty. Out of the different taste sensations: sweet, bitter, sour, salty and umami (savory), I prefer: sweet, salty, umami, sour, bitter (in that order). I suppose it would be more accurate to go by meal; at breakfast I prefer sweet, while lunch and dinner I prefer salty or savory, but I'm sure you understand. After class (I only have 3 classes left!!!!), I promptly drove home and made dinner. I haven't been packing my dinners lately mainly because I'm lazy. And I don't always have enough time during my lunch break to pack one up. And my class normally only lasts about an hour (it's supposed to be an hour and forty minutes). So it's not just because I'm lazy ;) I do believe this was the largest sweet potato I have ever eaten. I ate the whole thing. No shame. It was organic, too. Organic produce always seems to be smaller than non-organic to me, however this sweet potato proved me wrong. I think it may have been bigger than my foot. And I wear a size 9 shoe. Organic sweet potato~1/3 cup baked beansGoat cheeseThis is a delicious combination. However, you could pair baked beans with anything and I'm sure I would approve. Back to work!
