Knock me out cold!

By Girl Stuck In A Rut (Visit website)

Hello, hello! I can't believe it is Thursday already. This week has just flown by!!

Well, Tuesday morning was my MRI and unfortunately it did not go as well as I had hoped! I arrived at 6:15am and although I had taken an ativan at 6, I was feeling not too bad even though it wasn't working yet. I was changed into the gown and being taken in at 7am sharp. I had a super sweet technician that was trying to work with me. She explained what I was going to feel and that it was going to be very snug.

Yeah, snug was an understatement. She placed a cloth over my eyes and put the scanner thing over my face and started to push me in. I thought my face/seeing would be the big issue but it wasn't as I couldn't see anything. However, it was a tight fit and the further in I got the more I felt like I was in a small coffin. I tried to stay calm and think nice thoughts but my brain just couldn't relax.

I felt kinda like this....

I told her I needed out, I was feeling panicky. Once out I just couldn't go back in. The machine hadn't even turned on yet. The lady was really kind and said she totally understood as it was super snug and said she would put in a request for a open MRI. They won't give these to just anyone, which is why I couldn't opt for this in the first place. I'm back on the waiting list and I have no idea how long it will be.

She also suggested I talk to the Dr about a higher dose of ativan. Uh ya, it would really just be better if you could knock me out cold!

After leaving the hospital we went to pick up a few supplies and grabbed a quick breakfast of eggs and hash browns at a truck stop restaurant. While there I started to really feel the ativan. Hmm...about an hour too late!

Once home we went back to bed for a few hours. The rest of the day was spent prepping for a busy work day Wednesday.

Yesterday my help was here and we got 5 batches of dog chow done. I had to do a run to the grocery store for something I forgot. Turns out that Superstore had killer deals on their produce so I ended up doing a bunch of shopping for my mom (she doesn't have one near her house) and picked up a few things for us. We really didn't need anything but I couldn't say no to some of the deals. Asparagus was $1, Pineapple $2, cucumbers $1, etc. So needless to say our fridge is stuffed with fresh stuff. I'm going to cook up some meals ready for lunch and dinner the next couple days.

Here was some of my loot:

Baby butternut squashPineappleBran Flakes(Shopper's Drug Mart for 1.50) for making no bake dog cookiesTostada's(I've been looking for these and just found them!! 5pts for 3 and they are so good!)Avocado oil (50% off) Expiration wasn't until 2012!CantaloupeAcorn squash2 small mango'sOrganic kiwi'sCherry tomatoes2 Plantains. (never tried before)Cauliflower

We picked these up while in Calgary the other day.
Coconut water (Superstore now sells these. Way more affordable there, then the specialty stores!)
Unsweetened Coconut milk
Portabella mushrooms
Honey Greek Yogurt
Almonds
Pecans
Organic sweet potatoes

I lucked out and found these natural cleaners for 2/$5. I'm trying to switch over to these. The only cleaner I'm keeping is my Lysol disinfectant wipes for the kitchen because of the business. Our city has a chemical exchange program where I can drop off all my unwanted cleaners safely, starting in May. I never worried allot about cleaners until I recently bought new bathtub spay cleaner and had a hard time breathing and my eyes were burning after using it. I literally thought, Holy crap this has got to be toxic!! I never used it again. Jillian's book made me really think about switching out all my products for good.

Do you worry about cleaning products? Do you buy natural brands over popular name brands?

Today I have allot to do but I'm not sure how much I'm going to get done. First and foremost I have to get the doggie take home bags ready. After the crazy week we had I cheated and opted to buy the cookies to fill the bags. I did by high quality, natural one's though. I think the woman at the store yesterday thought I lost my marbles as I actually counted out 300 different cookies!!

Okay, so onto food. Here was yesterday's meals:

B-fast: 1c GF Nature's Path cereal, .5c vanilla coconut milk, .5 banana.

Using them up but honestly, not a fan :(

Lunch was Amy's Vegetable Lentil soup with 9 Cheddar Food Should Taste Good brand tortilla chips. I have to say I love, love this brand of chips. I've tried; The works, cheddar, multigrain multigrains, the jalapeno, sweet potato, and even the chocolate tortilla's and I enjoy them all. I recommend trying them out!!

Dinner started out like this. Unfortunately I did 2 things wrong. #1- I attempted to eat corn tortilla's. I don't like them, never have. I convinced myself I could eat them. I couldn't. #2- We used ground Tempeh taco "meat". It was flavorful but I ground it too much and it was paste like. Don't do that ;)

I fixed dinner by turning it into a salad with a side of roasted asparagus :)

I splurged on an evening treat of air popped popcorn and 1/4c natural sun drop chocolates. Confession: My all time favorite snack to munch on is popcorn with Peanut M&M's sprinkled in. I have converted my mom and hubby onto it too. I now settle for just chocolate as the peanuts are just not worth the points. It's still pretty good.

What is a weird food combo you enjoy?

Well, I must start on those cookie bags!! I'll be back tonight with the days meals. Have a good afternoon :)
