Korean Kitchen: Seaweed Soup Recipe
![]() There's a story I read to my kids called Seaweed Soup . The characters are sea animals that are faced with eating seaweed soup. Every time the cook walks away, the animals at the dinner table make comments about the soup. It smells awful! It's disgusting and slimy! Gooey! I could take offense since I grew up on this stuff along with a good number of the Asian population, but I can see how people can be turned off. Yes, it may not look appetizing to the uninitiated. Maybe even fishy as Hubby would say. But after the first taste, you may agree with the animals at the end of the story as they proclaim the soup to be Delicious! Amazing! Yummy! P.S. This is traditionally given to Korean women who have just given birth. It's believed to help bring in milk. P.P.S. You do not need to be breastfeeding or have given birth to enjoy this soup.
