Lasagna


Here is a very simple recipe that can be done fairly quickly. I learned this recipe from my mother, who does it all the time. The great thing about this cake recipe is that you can easily change its flavour:

all you have to do is to use a different flavoured yogurt and you will have a different cake in your hands. It is also very tasty.


It goes very well with a cup of coffee for breakfeast or during an afternoon snack. Enjoy it!



Lasagna

Ingredients

500g of lasagna pasta
300g of minced meat
200g of mushrooms
200g of courgette (zucchini)
1 large carrot
1 large green pepper
1 large onion
4 garlic cloves
Olive oil extra virgin
200ml of tomato sauce
3 medium sized tomatoes
Salt q.b.
Black pepper q.b.

Bechamel sauce


1 tablespoon of margerine
¼ liter of milk
flour q.b.
Salt q.b.
Black pepper q.b.
Nutmeg q.b.



Method

1 Start by preparing the main sauce. Chopp the onion and the garlic. Then, chopp all the mushrooms, courgette, carrot, green pepper and tomatoes. Then, on a separate pan, add the onion and garlic with some olive oil and let it fry until it all has a slight golden colour.


2 When the onion and garlic is well fried, add the vegetables one by one. Let it all fry for some minutes. Then, add the tomato sauce and let it cook for a while. Do not forget the salt and black pepper. At the end, add the minced meat and let it all cook for 5-10 minutes in low fire.


3 At the same time that the main sauce is cooking, you can easily start preparing the bachamel sauce. On a separate pan and on a low fire, add the margerine. When it is melted, add the milk and slowly start adding the flour. Add the salt, black pepper and nutmeg and let it cook for a while in low fire. It is important to keep stiring the sauce with a wooden spoon so it does not get stuck in the bottom of the pan. When it is a little bit hard, it is ready.


4 Then it is time to boil the lasagna pasta. But before starting this, it is important to set-up the baking tray that will be taken into the oven. So, on a separate pan, boil some water. When the water is boiling, start adding 2-3 layers of lasagna pasta. When it is slightly cooked (a bit hard still), take it out and put it on the baking tray.


5 Then, put some of the basic tomato and meat sauce on top of the pasta layer. On top of this layer, add another pasta layer. Then, on top of this pasta layer, add the bechamel sauce layer. And so on. The important thing is to keep a certain order: pasta-tomato sauce-pasta-bechamel sauce-pasta-tomato sauce-pasta tomato sauce-pasta-bechamel sauce. And so on. At the end, you will have more layers of tomato sauce than bechamel.


6 When the tray is full and you have used all the pasta, tomato sauce and bechamel sauce, take it to the oven at medium temperature. Then, let it stay in the oven for 45-60 minutes.


7 At the end, it is ready to be served.
