Leadership

By Nikes and Ponytails (Visit website)

I graduated! Well from the Junior League that is, effective June 1st I can now call myself an active. I already received my placement for next year and I will be in a leadership role as a provisional advisor. Meaning, I get to help the new girls next year learn to navigate the JL and become leaders themselves. I am really looking forward to this. I can remember since I was little my mom calling me Julie, the cruise director, because I loved being in charge of telling everyone where we should have this party, when to do such and such and then of course I am just a wee bit bossy, I won't lie.

I can't wait to meet some of the new girls that will be assigned to me and I am really excited to pick out the stuff for there goodie bags for the retreat. The only thing I know for sure I want to do differently than I had at my year, is make a once a month meeting mandatory (it is a requirement) but then I want to add an optional once a month fun activity so the girls can really get to know each other and walk away with great friends.

Now I just have to figure out how I am going to juggle all of my activities and still continue to work on myself.

JLD Goals for 2010-2011:
Increase awareness about the Junior LeagueApply/get in to the Leadership InstituteMake it a fun year for my girlsContribute enormously to the provisional projectMake new friends and create lasting relationshipsNetwork for my companyParticipate in at least 1 community project or DIAD a month
Ideas for girls swag bags:
Sweet & Salty Pretzels from HERE MOR beverages (local and amazingly delicious)Mini planners to track all of our obligationsHott pink or purple fine tip sharpiesAnd I need to come up with some other cute ideas.
Any suggestions?
