Leaf Dining, Solaris Mon?t Kiara
I?ve been eating quite a bit of Indian food, since I?m featuring Indian cuisine for the November issue of my FACES column. Here?s another discovery I made (ok, I didn?t really discover this. rif told me about it) in Solaris Mon?t Kiara ? Leaf Dining. I actually wanted to eat at Little Korea, but he persuaded me to try the briyani here. I?m glad he did ? I enjoyed the food. Mutton briyani (RM12) was good value for money. It was a pretty generous portion with abundant chunks of lamb in a thick curry sauce. For small eaters, I would recommend sharing this. The rice was more intensely flavoured compared to the other briyani versions I?ve eaten. Correct me if I?m wrong...but I think Southern Indian food uses a lot more spices and is less creamy compared to Northern Indian food. The pickled onions yogurt was tangy and refreshing.![]() ![]() rif ordered the vegetarian banana leaf thali set meal (RM5.50) and a piece of fried chicken (RM5). The presentation was a lot better, and it was tastier than the two banana leaf rice shops in Bangsar Baru. We both liked the fish curry -- it was thick, fiery and well-infused with spices. The fried chicken was reputed to be good (according to rif and a friend). It was nicely marinated and freshly fried, but the portion was so small! I could easily eat two.Service was warm and friendly. The waiters were smiling all the time and they happily gave me more curry to go with my briyani. I liked that the place had air-conditioning, so I didn?t walk out sweating. Prices are quite affordable, considering the large portions and location. Ambiance: 6/10Price: 6/10 Food: 6.5/10 (pork-free) Verdict: The food here are mostly spicy and tummy warming. 5, Jalan Solaris 1,Solaris Mont Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur 03-6203 6000 GPS Coordinates: N 3 10.441 E 101 39.624 related searches : Leaf
