Live Life ? Love Life
Hellooo, beauties! How’s life treating y’all?! Having a day off this morning means no go-go-go start to my day and a lovely morning of blogging whilst not only enjoying, but savoury a delicious bowl of goodness: [[ I <3 cranberries ... possibly definately moreso than craisins! ]] [[ Bob's Red Mill Old Fashioned Oats cooked in soy milk and pumpkin with pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon and flaxseeds. Also in the mixx: frozen cranberries, raisins and almonds. Topped with a dollop of love - aka, Maranatha AB ]] .::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::. First off, thank you so much for all of your support after my baby-school breakdown last week <3 Happy to say, things are going much better these says. First off, I got an internship!!! This week was full of ups and downs with this thing – one minute I thought I had one, the next, I’m getting an email telling me they “regret to inform me” that their available positions cannot fulfill my requirements. Luckily, yesterday evening (just after I got rejected by my number one pick!!!) and was ready to have another mini-breakdown, I got an email for my number two place (where I had had an interview I thought I bombed on Monday) telling me they want to offer me the internship! Phew! Also – Law isn’t looking as scary as it was a week ago. I buckled down and got my readings done and notes made on the chapters that are on our midtern/big test next week. No, I’m not caught up on my readings, but still – I just feel a lot better about everything! Phew! .::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::. Nothing major on the ED front, either. Which is a good thing, for sure! The one thing I’m struggling with, however, is finding hunger cues. I’m always determined to meet my calorie needs, but a lot of the time, I’m legitimately not hungry. And not even, like “I suppose I could munch on something, even though I’m not hungry“… it’s like, “I have no real desire to eat anything, I’m just not hungry“. Not ED related, because I end up eating to make up any lost calories – I suppose I’m just so used to being “told”, or telling myself, when I’m supposed to eat and how much that…my body just can’t seem to que my stomach up to my brain? Or my mouth?! Not sure. It’s caused for some mayjah cal-cramming, which I am not a fan of. Pour example: I was having one of those days where I’m on campus all day and decided to make it an intuitive eating day. I woke up late (which never happens – but I had an awful sleep that night), so breakfast was a big cup of soy milk and a Crunchy Peanut Butter Clif Bar, eaten on the bus. This apparently filled me throughout my class (where I munched on my friend’s grapes and baby carrots) and through most of my break. Then, when my friend got off of her class, we decided to see Easy A (funny movie!!), so I picked up a roasted chicken breast sub (with all the fixings). This stuffed me (those suckers are big!) and lasted me for a few more hours, ’till my last class of the evening, where I had an apple and a 2% Pineapple Chobani (so, apparently there are way more Chobani and Oikos flavours available now – and at more places!!! FYFGEWUIF!!!). By the time I was on the bus and on my way back home, looking back on my day, I was like Oh, crap, I’ve barely eaten a thing. This was honestly my fault – truth is I was preoccupied with being with friends and loads of school stuff (y’know, being normal?!!) and I just didn’t make the time or plan ahead. But I wasn’t about to give ED the satisfaction of knowingly undereating. All it takes is one day, from my experience anyway, to slip down that slippery slope. As soon as I got home, I made a lovely dinner (that looked so fug I didn’t photograph it). T’was delcious, though: lentils and crumbled extra-firm tofu cooked in pumpkin+pumpkin spice+cumin+garlic powder with peas, corn, carrots, red pepper, cashews and nooch. It seriously looked awful, though! Esspec with the lack of natural light :( This, however, wasn’t enough. Even though I was stuffed, I knew I had to eat something. This is was I say to people who sometimes ask me how to fit in the calories whilst gaining – no matter how full and bloated you are, do not make it an option to skimp on your calories. And on that note, I bring you all my 700-calorie bowl of oatmeal: I know, it doesn’t look much bigger than my average bowls of oats, but I tallied it and it was just under 700-calories (mind you, I’m a mixer of ingredients – not a topper…except for nut butters!). In the mix: 1 1/2 servings of steel cut oats ;; a whole, large banana ;; whey protein powder ;; cinnamon ;; chopped walnuts ;; chopped cashews ;; craisins ;; dates ;; big dollop of almond butter. If someone had sat an avocado and some salmon in front of me and tried to force me to eat, I probably would have found an excuse not to eat, because I legitimately don’t like those foods! “Forcing” myself to eat something I actually like and enjoy is so much easier than forcing myself to eat something I’m not a fan of! These kinds of days aren’t normal for me, but they do happen. So you gotta be (mentally) prepared! I was stuffed, but didn’t have an early class the next morning so was able to veg on the couch with some tea to help digest that monsta. So much fibre. Still delicious, though! .::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::. Kay, so it’s official – I’ve been a bum photographer! I just feel like my evening snackage is funner and prettier than my daytime eats because those are usually in tupperware/thrown together pretty fast! (Though they are quite delicious, I must admit). Luckily my new camera take slightly better pics in bad light than my old one, they’re still pretty artificial looking :\ Cheese … …plus peppers… …equals <3 [[ Sauteed bell peppers with a serving of lentils cooked in veggie broth with delcious seasonings and spices - topped with freshly grated mozzerella. I seriously wish I had some burger buns - that was so sloppy-joe worthy filling!! ]] A non-oatmeal breakfast?! Say wuuuuut. [[ Jordan's Muesli = one of the best thing's I've ever discovered at Costco (next to Greek Yoghurt, Larabars and Maranatha). Jordan's Muesli served with some Liberte Greek Yoghurt and fresh strawberries. Lovelovelove.]] In case I wasn’t sure before, I think I now know what the obsession with roasted veg in the blogosphere is… [[ It makes everything better! OH and I tried acorn squash! Truth: Not as good as butternut squash, spaghetti squash or pumpkin. But still uber-yum roasted! Here we have a mix of acorn squash, broccoli, chickpeas, carrots, tofu, sweet taters and bell peppers - coated in an apple sauce compot (apple sauce + ginger + cumin + curry + pumpkin pie spice) I put together over the stove top before mixing the veggies in and laying them on a baking sheet. Super yum!!! Loved the crispy chickpeas!!! ]] .::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::. And in more OMG yay it’s Fall news, guess what I stumbled upon whilst grocery shopping this week! Love x3! …and no, they didn’t have the Sugar Cookie one :( But I can’t wait to crack open Pumpkin Spice!!! Aiight, I’m off to run errands… then after an evening of vegetation, keep going and possibly get ahead on school work! (Why do I always feel like it’s alright to slack once I get caught up?!)
