Low-Calorie Whipped Cream
For anyone that might have been wondering, it is very possible to make whipped cream with pudding mix. In fact, all you need it the pudding mix, the milk (as stated on the package) and some cream of tartar. Oh the possibilities as a cake topping! Mock tiramisu comes to mind. Or even a simple brownie with whipped cream. I will most definitely be making something creative with this in the near future. Fat-Free, Sugar-Free Mock Whipped Cream Topping 1 box sugar-free, fat-free pudding mix (any flavor) Milk as per package directions 1/4 t. cream of tartar ?Prepare the pudding like the package says. Let it sit in the freezer for a bit as it sets. You want it as cold as possible without being frozen. Throw the beaters in there along with it. After about 10-15 minutes, take them out, add some cream of tartar and whip until stiff peaks form. It doesn’t have the super-creamy mouth-feel that regular whipped cream does, but, considering what’s in it, it’s a great stand in, especially for desserts with a lot of their own flavor (like tiramisu). Also, it doesn’t hold up on the counter for long, but rewhips perfectly.
