Nothing better than appetizer puff pastries to start your meal! But when Easter approaches, we give them a carrot look (just to thank the Easter bunnies for bringing us a mountain of chocolate eggs in the garden!). We show you our super easy trick to make puff pastry cones and above all we share with you the recipe for our goat cheese cream + dried tomatoes to delight you ;-)

  • Carrot shaped croissant cones : a cute Easter appetizer with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes - Preparation step 1Cut the puff pastry into strips about 1 cm (0.4 inch) wide. We cut 16 of them out of a rectangular puff pastry.

  • Carrot shaped croissant cones : a cute Easter appetizer with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes - Preparation step 4Arrange the cones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg yolk and cook for 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C).

What can I substitute for goat cheese?
You can replace the goat cream cheese with classic cream cheese.

What can I substitute for sun-dried tomatoes?
You can replace the dried tomatoes with grated carrots for example if you want this recipe to remain vegetarian. Otherwise add tuna or ham.

How long can I keep this recipe?
You can store this recipe for 4-5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Can I freeze these pastries?
You can of course freeze these pastries to eat them later! We recommend that you only freeze the puff pastry cone so that you can reheat it in the oven and keep it crispy. You can then garnish it.

Can these carrot puff pastries be made gluten-free?
You can use gluten-free puff pastry for this recipe.

Can we make these carrot puff pastries in a sweet version?
You can of course use shortbread or puff pastry and garnish your carrots with pastry cream, for example. You can replace the parsley with a mint leaf.
