  • Boil, peel and smash the potatoes. Add salt and chilly powder (optional) and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in the pan, add channa dal, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, chopped ginger and onions. Saute till tender.
  • Add green peas (or) carrot and turmeric powder. Cook till done.
  • Add tomato and smashed potatoes. Adjust the salt. Cook for 5 minutes on low-medium flame.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves & roasted cashewnuts.
  • Serve warm.
