Mambazha Pulissery / Ripe Mango in a Yogurt Gravy
Ingredients : Ripe Mango :2nos (peel & cut into small pieces) Turmeric powder :1/2tsp Red Chilly powder :1/4tsp Sugar :1tsp (optional) If the mango is not that ripe then u can add sugar. Curd/Yogurt :2cup Curry leaves :1sprig Salt to taste For Grinding: Grated coconut :1cup Green chilly :3nos Garlic :2pods Cumin seeds :1/2tsp Curry leaves :2-3leaves For Seasoning Mustard seeds :1/2tsp Fenugreek seeds :1/4tsp Dry red chilly :3nos Curry leaves :few Coconut Oil :1tbsp Method of Preparations : 1.In a pan,place the cut mango pieces, turmeric powder,red chilly powder,curry leaves and salt. 2.Pour enough water to cover the ingredients and cook till mango pieces are well cooked and turns soft. 3.Grind grated coconut,green chillies,garlic,cumin seeds,curry leaves to a fine paste adding half of the yogurt. 4.Add this paste to the cooked mangoes,add salt and mix well; allow it to boil on a low heat. 5.Whip the remaining yogurt/curd and add to the curry and mix well; Bring to a boil and cook for a minute.Keep stirring till the gravy is heated through,(don?t allow yogurt to curdle) now add sugar;Remove from the heat and keep it aside. 6.In a small frying pan, heat coconut oil and add the mustard seeds. When it start to splutter,add fenugreek seeds,curry leaves and red chilies; Pour this over the prepared Pulissery/Mango-yogurt gravy and mix well. 7.Yummy Mambazha pulissery is ready.Serve with rice and enjoy!!.
