Market Update: Changes, Changes Everywhere and a new market in Round Rock
Mother's Day weekend is the perfect time to explore the local markets. You can pick up fresh ingredients for that lovely breakfast in bed or a great gift from one of the vendors. Following are a few things you might want to keep in mind as you head out to the markets.
![]() The Downtown Austin Farmers Market has a new expanded format which now incorporates the north half of the surface lot adjacent to 4th street. It felt very open (if a little disorienting at first) and allows them to include a number of new vendors. Because of the new format, you now have to pay to park in the south end of the surface lot. Free parking is still available in the state garage on San Antonio. Last weekend the Sunset Valley Farmers? Market was temporarily relocated to the Sunset Valley Elementary School just around the corner. It will be back in it's regular location at the Tony Burger Center again this week. For those of you in North Austin, there is exciting news. Last weekend was the the grand opening of the Brushy Creek Farmers? Market at 16813 Great Oaks Drive in Round Rock (next to the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District). The market is from 9 am to 1 pm and includes produce, flowers and locally raised meats. For more details, contact Amy Ingram. Unfortunately, I am going to miss the markets this week because of a scheduling conflict so I am going to explore Greenling's local box delivery service for the first time. I'll keep you posted on that adventure. related searches : Market
