Marsha's Rice Krispie Treats take a Twist
These are not your ordinary Rice Krispie Treats but ones kicked up a notch by my friend, Marsha Cooper. Marsha found the Marshmallows on clearance at Target and mailed me three bags after I commented on her recipe. Marsha and I go a long ways back. We both worked for the State of California and became friends during the beanie baby craze. Marsha would stalk out beanies for our beanie crazed daughter then mail them to me here in Texas. It's nice when friendships can span over 15+ years. This one is for your Marsha.
5 Tablespoons of butter or margarine 40 Jet-Puffed Coconut Marshmallows 1 teaspoon vanilla, creme de coconut or other coconut flavored liqueur 6 cups of Rice Krispies Melt butter in large, heavy saucepan over low heat then add vanilla or other coconut flavoring. Add marshmallows and cook until mallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended. Remove from heat. Add cereal immediately; mix well until coated. Press into a buttered 13x9" banking dish. Press with back of buttered wooden spoon. Cool and then cut in to 24 squares. Makes 12 servings, 2 squares each. NOTE: You can still find these delectable coconut puffs on-line if not in the clearance section of your favorite store. related searches : Marsha
