Meet Me at the Market and Market Update

This week has been about discovery, starting with the Wednesday farm stand at the lovely Rain Lily farm and continuing this Saturday at the farm stand at Boggy Creek Farm.  

Rain Lily Farm is a true gem.  It's at 914 Shady Ln., a quick drive from downtown on E. 7th (as if you were headed to the airport).  The farm is on a beautiful property that felt like a little oasis after a very hassled and harried Wednesday.  They have a great selection of produce and you can bring a blanket and picnic on the lawn.  

They hold the farm stand on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 5:30-7:30, but check the calendar because they may have a hiatus 
for part of the summer.  Drop by after work and give yourself a little peace and quiet before you head home. 
 
They are also the owners of FarmHouse Delivery, another produce delivery service in town.  If you can't make it by the farm stand, you can have it delivered to your door.   

And for the other first, on Saturday 5/23, I'm hosting my first Meet Me at the Market outing.  If you'd like to come shopping with me, meet me at Boggy Creek Farm, 3414 Lyons Rd., at 9 am.  You can find me by checking out my profile photo (although there is a 90% chance I'll have a ponytail - it's Saturday after all) and looking for this bag:


I'd love to meet some new folks and explore together.  Shopping's always more fun with a buddy.

In other market news, Sunset Valley Farmers Market is back at the Toney Burger Center this weekend and, if you haven't explored the expanded format at the Downtown Austin Farmers Market, you've been missing out.
