Midweek eating quirker: a donkey lift to the real greek

By London Eater - London food blog and restaurant reviews and restaurant guide (Visit website)

The Real Greek is opening a new branch in the old spitafields market tomorrow and to mark the momentous occasion, they’ve employed donkey-power who goes by the name of “Demitris” . Demitris, the affable donkey has been acting as a taxi to ferry city workers to the newest greek restaurant in the square mile. In addition to being a pretty quirky publicity stunt, it’s also part of the Real Greek’s ongoing support for the greek based charity known as the corfu donkey rescue, which according to their website , rescues lost, old and abandoned donkeys on the island of Corfu. Well old Demitris ain’t so lost and has definitely found purpose in the city centre today.

The real greek opens it’s latest branch in the old spitafields market at 6 horner square on 5th Dec 08.
