Mint Cilantro Rice / Pudina and Coriander Leaf Rice Recipe
Yo! Here is a long awaited recipe from anu, my cousin sil, but more than that one of the most amazing mothers i know and a great writer/blogger! I am kinda biased towards mommy bloggers, follow quite a lot of em cos they are the only kind that can bring out that mixed emotion reaction in me, u know the kind where u go rofl while tears tickle ur eyes, yea u got it, anu is awesome in doing that to u with her words, if u don believe me check it out for urself in here, http://avymom.wordpress.com/ But what i forgot to mention is that she is the dil of my most fav aunt (mami) whose house i almost grew up in and is simply the best cook i ve met until date, hands down! Anu, who loves cooking for more reasons than one (her blog has a lot on cooking for kids) has graciously agreed and sent us the recipe to her yummy mint cilantro rice aka pudina and coriander leaves rice.. and its presented to u rite away from anu's kitchen...
Mint Cilantro Rice Recipe Ingredients Basmati rice - 2 cups (cooked) Mint - 1 bunch Cilantro -1/2 bunch Cloves - 3 Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch Ginger - 3/4 inch Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp Urad Dal - 3 tbsp Toor Dal - 3 tbsp Green Chillies - 2 nos Red Chilli - 1 no. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp Oil to saute Salt to taste Add oil, splutter mustard seeds, fry the dals and chillies until they turn red. Add washed cliantro and mint leaves and saute for a quick minute. Then grind them in a blender, do not use too much water as the leaves give out water too. In a skillet, add oil, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.Add the ground paste, salt, turmeric and cumin powders. Let it boil for about 8 minutes and notice the oil separating, let it cook for few more minutes. Mix in the rice well and serve hot! Cook the rice with 1:1.5 ratio of water and you may also add a tsp of oil to it, it makes sure the rice particles separate well when you mix in. related searches : Mint
