Missing Noisy Halls
We loved having Captain Awesome around, especially now that nothing resonates in the silence of our empty rooms – he easily occupies all of them. He is Captain Awesome for a reason, his logic is simply beyond anything you can expect from an 8-year old, much to Ms C’s annoyance sometimes for having a child so inquisitive and analytical that it borders on being stubborn. This post is easily becoming another In Awe of Captain Awesome post. That’s because I am in awe. And I love how the feeling is mutual with my little nephew to his Auntie B. It makes me feel that I could actually respond and somehow match his awesomeness. He asked me what is one trillion seven hundred eight plus five divided by four. My smart-ass self answered approximately 250 billion. He was in awe. Chef was also able to teach him how to ride a bike, and I was also able to understand that this child is actually a child, and not an invincible superhuman, as he has so much to learn. What separates him from most people (not just children) is that he learns… he learns fast… and he learns well. And so we teach, and we learn at the same time. After a weekend with rowdy boys (Captain Awesome plus Chef’s nephews), drunken family members, a funny priest, a failed baking attempt, and chatter with my sister, cousins and favorite aunt, just Chef and me here at home is a bit somber. We love having people around. And, I love how we have a house to gather people together. I am so thankful for all our blessings, most especially, family. related searches : Missing
