My Kitchen Restaurant, Sunway Mas
I was having dinner in Sunway Mas, when I spied My Kitchen Restaurant across the road. Curious, rif and I decided to check out their ?Melaka Durian Cendol?, since it?s been a while since we had our durian cendol fix.![]() The interior is clean and minimal, with white marble tabletops and bright florescent lights. The walls are adorned with pictures and newspaper write-ups on the restaurant. We shared a bowl of durian cendol, as we were very full from dinner.![]() The durian cendol (RM3.40) was decent, but I still prefer the one from Jeta Grooves. Topped with a dollop of durian puree, the finely shaved ice was laden with fragrant gula Melaka and creamy coconut milk. According to rif?s dad (who is from Malacca), the gula Melaka used is one of the better ones around. The rich coconut milk paired nicely with the gula Melaka, but I think it would taste better with more durian topping and santan - I like my cendol to be rich. Nonetheless, it is still quite decent, and I wouldn?t mind getting my fix here rather than drive all the way to Malacca. We also ordered half a Hainanese Durian Cake Roll (RM18 per roll) to try at home. The texture of the roll was light and airy, but I didn?t like the type of durian used for the filling. I reckon bitter durians would taste better, as they have more kick. Ambiance: 5.5/10 Price: 6/10 Cendol: 6/10 Durian Roll: 5/10 Verdict: Not the best I've had, but it's quite decent and beats going all the way to Malacca. 26-1, Jln PJU1/3B, Sunway Mas Commercial Centre, 47301 Petaling Jaya, 03 7880.8726 Website: http://www.mykitchenrestaurant.com.my/ (Mon-Sun: 10am-10pm) related searches : Kitchen
