My week in pictures...
It must appear that I'm becoming a crappy blogger...I'm so sorry!! Sometimes life gets so busy and time fly's too fast!! This past week was one of those! I'm trying to get back on track with regular posts and to reading your blogs! I tried to post yesterday twice but something was wrong with the photo's uploading so I gave up!
We finally got our unit put together and our new TV set up: We love it! It took 3.5hrs to put together, than we had to bring the old boat to recycling and then an additional 1.5 for hubby to get all the components set up. Phew!! Finally done :) My mom came out and stayed with us Thurs/Fri night. Friday morning we went and got blood work done. I had an appointment but my mom just did walk in...2hrs later...OMG! Then we took off to the eye care place, as I was going to help her pick out new frames. I found a couple that I really liked too, and I was 6mths overdue having my eyes tested, so I got mine done. I found out a few interesting things about my vision but the sucky part was I was told that I really need to wear my glasses all the time, to help ensure my vision in my right eye (I have very little vision in my left from a condition as a child). Good news was it was 50% off frames and sunglasses were a steal of a deal too! I left with 2 new pairs of glasses and new shades :) Pictures don't really do them justice but they look nice on. In fact my mom got the same pair!! Good thing we don't see each other too often! These ones are a metallic-ish Plum/purple with a little flower stone on the side.... Not the most flattering pictures, but you get the idea ;) After getting our glasses done we were off to find new shoes. I'll be honest, I haven't paid more than $30 for shoes in years. I'm a cheapo! But the last couple months my legs and especially my right heel has been giving me trouble. With the business I'm on my feet walking and standing for hours. This time I decided to go with a better quality shoe and see if it makes the difference. I picked out a pair of New Balance shoes. They are running shoes, but the walking ones weren't fitting right and I was assured these would be a great alternative. I wore them yesterday and my feet felt great until just after supper when I took them off to give them a rest. You like? The last day my mom was here she took hubby and I out for lunch before bring her home. We tried to go to Cora's but the restaurant was packed with a line up out the door!! I really want to try there but we'll have to be early birds to get a seat ! Instead we opted for Loungeburger. ![]() We started off with the Fish Taco's (1 small one each) it came with guac and corn salsa. Great flavours but the fish was a little on the dry side.... My pretty mama... My sexy man ;) Hubby and I split our plates so we could try both. I ordered the Tiger prawn burger with Asian slaw and sweet chilli sauce. It was actually really good. We wanted to try the poutine...it sucked :( The gravy was funky...kind of like a Swiss Chalet sauce which I don't like, but now I know! Hubby had their Portobello Mushroom burger with grilled onions, jalapeno jack cheese, and roasted red pepper aioli sauce on a chipotle cheddar bun. The mushroom burgers are by far our favourite that we've tried! They have these huge, divine floats there and I wanted one but I didn't. Instead I stole a taste of my mom's! LOL! After lunch we dropped into the Bernard Callebaut Chocolate store. I only bought 2 little strawberry drops. We saw this awesome hand carved sculpture though... It was huge!! Wonder how many calories in that one?! LOL It was a fun weekend with my mom! The bad news? From Thurs-Sun I had Greek, Tim Horton's, A&W egg and cheese breakfast sand, a Waffle at Smitty's and Loungeburger. OUCH!! You guessed it. Monday's WI I was +3lbs. When will I learn you wonder? I'm wondering the same thing....ugh... So I have a ton of food pic's because I disappeared for a few so here is most of the past several day's in no particular order... So as you can tell I kept teetering between healthy and BAD! I got back to counting/tracking my points yesterday. I have to be stern and not discontinue tracking when I don't feel like it! We've been doing good on the grocery side of things. I haven't picked up anything but staples! I've actually been able to run in and grab supplies for the business and left without any extra's. It's been a long time since that has happened! Today's breakfast: 2pc Ezekiel toast w/2 Tbsp almond butter and 1 Tbsp honey, with a coffee.
