Nescafe Taster's Choice Single Serve Review

By The Culinary Adventure of a Cooking Mama (Visit website)

Recently I received a gift pack from Nescafe Taster's Choice and boy have I been spoiled!! I received two single serve packets each of Original, Decaf, 100% Colombian, Hazelnut, and Vanilla flavors. The Nescafe Taster's Choice advertisements are amazing to me so I thought, "what the hey", let's try it. (Check out a cool video ad on their website here.)

Me, being the critic that I am, was wondering how instant coffee was going to taste. The last time I gulped some down (begrudgingly I mighty add) was about eight or so years ago on a camping trip. Surprise! Instant coffee is no longer grainy or "yuck" tasting! In fact, the first flavor I tried was Decaffeinated to which I exclaimed to my husband, "this tastes like brewed coffee!" All of the flavors were enjoyable. However, the vanilla and hazelnut didn't have as strong of a coffee flavor. I'm not much of a "froo froo" coffee gal so I preferred the non-flavored blends over the flavored.

These single serve packets are great! In the evening after dinner when you want just one cup of coffee with dessert, all you need to do is boil some water in the microwave and add a packet. This is where the decaffeinated come in really handy. (I can't drink caffeine late or I won't sleep!)

I can also see where these packets would come in handy at the office. It's afternoon and you feel like having a cup of coffee. The morning coffee is still sitting on the burner, burning into a thick sludge. All you need to do is whip out the flavor of your choosing, add water, and microwave. Let's face it, these packets are a lot easier on the budget (approximately $3.49 for a 20-22 count box--that's 18 cents a cup!) than hitting your local Starbucks.

The Nescafe Taster's Choice website is very interactive. There is even a quiz to find out what your coffee personality is. I'm a Cupricorn! Recipes for coffee drinks are available, as well as articles regarding coffee and your health. Printable coupons are even available for your next purchase.

If you've been a critic of instant coffee in the chance, you need to give this a try. You won't be disappointed.
