Nestle Gujrati Dal, Green Chutney & Gujrati Aloo

Gujrati Dal
(A traditional sweet and sour dal with typical Gujarati seasoning. A must try for all. )

PREPARATION TIME: 10 mins
COOKING TIME: 10 mins
SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS


NESTLÉ EVERYDAY Ghee -1 tbsp
Arhar Dal - 200 g
Water - 2 cup (300 ml)+ 1 cup (150 ml)
Salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Musatard seeds - ½ tsp
Jeera - ½ tsp
Garlic - 2 cloves, finely chopped
Green chillies - 2, finely chopped
Hing - ¼ tsp
Whole red chillies - 2
Curry leaves - 10
Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Raw mango powder - 1 tbsp

METHOD

Soak the dal in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes. Add turmeric powder and salt to the dal and pressure-cook it till 3 whistles.

Heat ghee in a fry pan, splutter mustard seeds & jeera. Add garlic, green chillies, hing, whole red chillies, curry leaves and then sauté for 1minute, add red chilli powder in the end.

Pour this over the cooked dal and then add 1 cup water, sugar, raw mango powder and mix it well. Cook for 2 minutes and serve hot .




Green Chutney
( Spice up your meal with this yummy, easy to prepare chutney.)

PREPARATION TIME : 10 mins
COOKING TIME: No Cooking Required
SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS

Coriander leaves - 2 cup (60 g), wash & cleaned
Green chillies - 4
Garlic - 6 cloves
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - ½ tsp
Jeera -½ tsp

METHOD

Add all the ingredients in mixer and grind well.




Gujrati Aloo
( Fried potatoes in Gujrati style )

PREPARATION TIME : 10 mins
COOKING TIME : 5 mins
SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS

Potatoes - 500g
Oil -2 tbsp
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Green chillies - 4, chopped
Curry leaves -20
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
Salt- 1 tsp
Sugar - 2 tbsp
Lemon juice - 2 tsp

METHOD

Peel the boiled potatoes and cut it into even size cubes.

Heat oil in a karahi, add mustard seeds, green chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, boiled potatoes, salt, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well.

Serve hot.
