NYE Preparations

By Carrots 'N' Cake (Visit website)

Hi, guys! :-D

I need to make this post FAST because we have friends coming over in about 15 minutes for a little pre-party before the main New Year’s Eve event later tonight. I’m not even close to ready! Gah! 8-O

[rewind to this afternoon]

Before leaving for my hair appointment this afternoon, I munched on a Soy Joy bar. I’m not sure about these bars– the texture and flavor are a sort of strange. Oh well. It warded off my hunger for a few hours.

Remember when I went to the RUNWAY Gala back in October? Well, the goodie bags from the event included a $50 off coupon for a Newbury Street salon. It was definitely a keeper, so I held onto it until I needed a haircut, which was today!

Pini Swissa was a trendy little salon. So trendy, in fact, there wasn’t even a sign outside– just the street number.

I loved the funky, modern decor inside– totally my style. :-D

My stylist, Christina, gave me a great cut. She trimmed-up my layers and “texturized” my bangs to help them blend in better to the rest of my hair. (I’m growing my bangs out.) I’ll be sure to post photos of my new do tonight.

After my haircut, I stopped at Banana Republic. (I know. I have issues. )

I stumbled upon these “cement gray” beauties. Happy New Year to me! :-D

When I got home from shopping, I had worked up quite an appetite, so I immediately made myself a snack: a Rogue valley pear + raisin-walnut bread. I actually ended up eating 2 pieces of bread– the second one just went undocumented.

Check out the scene in downtown Boston before I headed home. The city is getting ready for its First Night celebrations.

I’m not going to lie, I’m happy that I won’t be involved in the First Night madness tonight. I’ve got my own shenanigans planned! ;-)

Happy New Year!!!!!
