OATS APPAM
INGREDIENTS: Quaker quick oats:1cup Appam podi/Fine rice flour:1/3cup Freshly grated coconut:3/4cup Cumin seeds:1tsp Cooking soda:1/3tsp Sugar:1 1/2tbs Salt,to taste Oil:as needed Water: METHOD: *Dry roast oats on medium heat until done about 3-4minutes,stirring constantly.Cool slightly&then dry grind to a fine powder.Keep aside. *Grind together grated coconut&cumin seeds to a fine paste by adding enough water(about 4/7cup). *In a large bowl,combine powdered oats,rice flour&coconut-cumin paste.Add enough water(about 1 1/2cup to 1 2/3cup) to make a semi thick batter of pouring consistency.Mix well by hand.Cover and keep aside for 9-10hours. *Now add cooking soda,sugar&enough salt and mix well.Let it sit for 7-10mints. *Heat a non-stick tava on medium heat.When hot,smear the surface with 2-3drops of oil(if needed).For each appam,pour about 1/4cup of batter,spreading it out slightly to make a 4'' disk.Cook for about 1 1/2min per side.Serve hot with egg curry/or with ur favorite curry related searches : Oats
