Oceana Restaurant

Always a classy move when a restaurant not only provides bread but also some type of spread like olive tapenade and olives. This DELICIOUS platter was the "hot appetizer platter to share" which is clockwise from the bottom garlic butter prawns & scallops, calamari, Oceana crab cakes and pan fried oysters which were lightly breaded and fried in olive oil and lemon. O.M.G. DELICIOUSNESS! The calamari was some of the best I have ever eaten in my life. The breading was so unbelievably light and almost sweet and the squid was not chewy in the least. The crab cakes were the best I have ever had and the oysters... AIYA the oysters... They melted in your mouth... Superb! The platter was $48 for four people but they split it into two for us.. Not sure what the cost worked out to be ;)For my main course I wanted crab but when I asked what the "market price" was for one and a quarter pound of Alaskan King Crab she uttered $75... Eeee.. Not worth it... I love making crab at home and can't justify it when The Keg sells the same amount for $35. I ended up getting the seafood bouillabiasse for $26 which is essentially a seafood stew or paella type dish. It had scallops, mussels, crab, halibut and prawns in a tomato sauce served with rice. DELICIOUS!MMMMM!!! James' meal was a-mazing. Look how big those scallops are!!! He got the 8 oz. filet mignon with scallops topped with brenaise sauce for $46... HEAVENLY! He even gave me one whole scallop... I am so lucky! This is me opening all of the awesome gifts James got me! I love opening lots of little gifts so he spoiled me rotten! I got the fleece nighty I'm wearing, socks, tights, a hat, Blue Ant hands free for my car and a DVD TV series called "Breaking Bad" WOO! I am one lucky woman.James got me socks as a joke one year as a gag but now I look forward to some new pairs every year!
