On the Loose: Christmas Shopping

By inadvertentlydomesticated.com (Visit website)

Christmas shopping was a lot easier and faster this year. I do not know if it was because most of our family, friends and godchildren are overseas or because I did this year?s shopping with my husband. I am more inclined to believe that it is the latter.  LOL. But, we did only have very few people to give gifts to here in the States that we did not need to make a list. And, most of our shopping budget went to our Captain Awesome and Little HRH.

Yes, we are guilty of leaving the kiddos in front of the TV or computer for a couple hours to get some chores and other things done around the house, or to steal some time alone. But, we still do our best to raise well-rounded children. So, we thought of getting Captain Awesome and Little HRH things that can keep them active, encourage their creativity and further develop their interest in music. We shared these to my parents, Um?s parents and other relatives, and the kids basically got what we had hoped they would.

The reaction on Little HRH?s face was priceless when she saw the box of Schwinn rollerblades that Um and I gave her. Of course, we got her a set of safety gear, too ? helmet, elbow pads, wrist pads and knee pads.

We originally wanted to get Captain Awesome this pro-size basketball court, but it was too expensive, so we got him a mini hoop that we hung by the door in their room instead AND a soccer ball (not pictured).

One of my aunts who came over to celebrate Christmas with us gave the kids a set of art stuff ? crayons, colored pencils, water colors ? and an easel, canvas and a set of paint (not pictured).

My parents got Captain Awesome a pair of Nike Hyperdunk basketball shoes

Um?s parents, who are both in the Philippines and missing their only grandchildren badly, sent Captain Awesome this Yamaha E223 Keyboard

?and Little HRH a Barbie bike (that came with a bag and bike for Barbie, too). It arrived late for Christmas, but just in time for her birthday! :)

Once again, Um and I are so grateful to have family and friends who help us cross out items from our children?s wish lists and make the season of giving extra special for our children. :)
