6 portions ingredients 1 kg 250gr onions 45 gr butter 1 table spoon olive oil half tea spoon sugar 500 ml white dry wine 2 liters bouillon 1 "baguette" french bread 375 gr gruyere cheese salt pepper preparation cut the onions in slices sauté them in some butter add the sugar, salt and pepper cook this for about 30 min add the wine cook 8 to 10 min (don't cover the pan) when the half of the wine is evaporated add the bouillon then cook it again without covering the pan for 45 minutes turn the oven on 200C° cut the "baguette", french bread in thick slices (4cm) place them 2 min under the grill on both sides take an ovendish place a piece of bread in it and poor some soup over it take the grated gruyere cheese and poor some over the soup set it back in the oven for about 10 to 15 min. related searches : Onion
