Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1/4 cup flax meal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 cup dried apples, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
1/8 cup turbinado sugar - optional

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350ºF
In a large mixing bowl, cream together brown sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla.
In a separate mixing bowl combine: white flour, wheat flour, oats, flax, baking soda and spices.
Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Do not over-mix.
Fold in dried apples, raisins, and walnuts.
Drop by heaping spoonfuls (or use a #30 scooper) onto a baking sheet sprayed with non-stick canola spray.
Sprinkle lightly with turbinado sugar if using.
Bake for approximately 12 minutes - or until lightly brown.
