Preparation:
Belacan 马来棧 also called Dried Shrimp Paste 虾酱 is one very common cooking ingredient used in S.E.A. cuisines. It is made from fermented ground shrimp, sun dried and then pressed into cake\'s form usually.
The strong smell especially during cooking could be repulsive, however the taste is so good and so fragrant when it is cooked. We could use it for vegetables, fried rice, marinade , etc......
Like today\\\'s recipe that I would like to share, it is a very common Belacan home cooked dish here in Malaysia.
