Ingredients:
3 medium size potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1/2 cup frozen green peas
2 green chillies (remove seeds and sliced thinly)
1 red chilly (remove seeds and sliced thinly)
3 small shallots (sliced)
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp kunyit/saffron powder
1 sprig curry leaf
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
To Coat Before Frying
3 tbsp gram flour
1 tbsp oil
enough water and salt
oil for frying

Preparation:
When the 2 tbsp oil is heated, fry the chillies, shallots, mustard seeds as well as add the saffron powder in. Keep stirring for 3-4 mins.
Onto this, add the mashed potatoes, curry leaves, peas and salt to taste. Stir all together until it becomes a thick paste.
Remove from heat and let it cool down. Roll bit by bit of this paste into individual balls.
Mix all the coating ingredients together to make a thin batter.
Dip the potato balls inside the batter, fry until golden brown in colour and remove. Drain over kitchen towel before serving.
