Cabbage:100gm,finely shredded
Shallots12nos(60gm),finely chopped
Green chilly:1big,finely chopped
Ginger:1+1/4tsp,finely chopped
Freshly grated coconut:50gm
Turmeric powder:1/3tsp
Red chili powder:2pinches
Coconut oil/olive oil:1+1/2tbs
Mustard seeds:1/2tsp-1tsp
Split white urad dal:1tsp
Curry leaves:a few

Preparation:
METHOD:
Crush together the cabbage,shallots,coconut,ginger,green chillies,powders and salt,using hands.
Heat the oil in a non-stick kadai.
Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
Then add urad and curry leaves.Fry for a few seconds&then add cabbage-coconut mixture.
Sprinkle a little water and cook covered for 7-8 minutes until the cabbage is very tender,stirring every 2-3minutes.
Serve hot with rice
