Ingredients:
1 cup dhal (soaked for 15 mins)
1 (140g) tomato - sliced thinly
5 shallots - sliced thinly
2 green chillies - remove seeds and cut into 1 inch length
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp turmeric/kunyit powder
2 sprigs curry leaves
3 tbsp olive oil
salt to taste

Preparation:
Boil the dhal with 1 1/2 cups of water and turmeric powder. Once the dhall becomes soft and the water dries up, remove and keep aside.
Heat up oil and when is heated, fry all the rest of the ingredients except the dhal and salt. Cook for about 5 mins to soften all the ingredients.
Add in the dhall and salt in. Keep stirring to mix all the ingredients together for another 3-4 mins. Remove from heat to be served with rice or even bread will do.
