Ingredients:
Ingredients for fish patties :
1/2 lb king fish, cut into 1" slices ( you can use any fish of your choice )
1 medium sized white onion
2 eggs
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
a handful coriander leaves
4 -5 mint leaves
1 and 1/2 tsp Shaan Tandoori Chicken BBQ mix (this adds color to the patties)
3 green chilies, chopped
1/2" piece ginger, minced
1 slice of bread, soaked in water
Salt to taste
Oil, for shallow fry
Ingredients for Tomato gravy :
3 big red tomatoes, cut into medium size pieces
4 small onions / shallots
2 whole red chilies
a pinch of sugar
Salt to taste
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds, for seasoning

Preparation:
Boil or steam the fish and remove all the bones.In a bowl, mix in the rest of the ingredients for fish patties and knead to a smooth paste.Take a handful of the mixture and make a ball. Now very gently flatten it into a 2-inch patty. Repeat the process for the rest of the mixture.Heat 1 tbsp. oil in a non-stick skillet over low heat. Slip in the patties, not too many at a time, and shallow-fry on both sides till crisp golden brown. For preparing the gravy, heat 1 tsp oil , add 2 red chilies and fry ; then add the shallots and tomato and shallow fry for a minute or so. Add salt as required. Keep aside and let cool.In a blender add this mixture with a pinch of sugar and blend it to a fine thick creamy gravy.For seasoning , heat 1 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds. Once it starts sputtering, add the seasoning to the tomato gravy and mix well.Serve the fish patties with this Rich and creamy tomato gravy .This is not only a great snack time recipe , you can also serve it with rice or paratha.
