Masala Idli (From Leftover Idlis)Recipe type: Other
Number of serving: 2
Preparation time: 15 Minute(s)
Cook time: 15 Minute(s)
Difficulty: Very Easy

Ingredients:

Leftover Idlis – 6, cut into pieces (I cut each idli into 9 pieces.)
Oil – 1 1/2 tablespoons
Butter – 1 1/2 tablespoons
Onions – 3/4 cup, chopped finely
Ginger paste – 1 1/2 teaspoons
Tomatoes – 3/4 cup, chopped finely
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
Black salt – 3/4 teaspoon
Pav bhaji masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 1/2 teaspoons
Cilantro – 3-4 sprigs, chopped for garnishing.
Salt – to taste
Preparation:

Step 1 Heat the oil and butter in a pan on medium heat.
Once hot add onions. Sauté it till it turns translucent.

Step 2 Then add tomatoes, ginger paste, and turmeric powder. Mix well. Cook it till oil leaves from the mixture. Using back of your spoon just mash the tomatoes and make it kind of gravy. Then add black salt, pav bhaji masala, lemon juice and salt. (Be careful while adding salt because idli has salt already and we added black salt.) Mix well.

Step 3 Add idli pieces. Mix gently.

Step 4 Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve hot.
