Outdoor Spaces

By This Charming House (Visit website)

Our trip this past weekend to Florida made me anxious to get working out our outdoor spaces.  I know it might be a bit premature, but I can't get it out of my mind!  Our outside space consists of a little porch off of our master bedroom which leads up to a smallish rooftop deck.  We also have a patio behind our house (but right now it houses a huge hottub, our grill, and a bunch of recycling stuff).

I recently saw an episode of Design Inc (Sarah Richardson's show) where she created this on a rooftop deck:
I just love this kind of furniture because it it looks so inviting, like an outdoor living room.  Unfortunately it tends to be pretty expensive.  I have been searching for deals since last summer, but haven't had much luck.  Hopefully if I keep scouring craig's list and furniture sales I will find something.

Now for some not-so-lovely pictures of our house

Our back patio We haven't decided whether to get rid of the hot tub or not... I vote get rid of it, but J wants to keep it.  I gave him 1 year: if we use it, it stays, otherwise its going. Its been about 5 months and we've used it maybe 4 times, so we'll see.  I've ripped out that slip resistent mat already and plan to either lay pavers or slate on top or to paint the concrete.  I also plan to paint the navy blue cinder blocks something more neutral, hang pretty string lights from the "roof," and replace the door leading outside with one that lets in more light.  Obviously the furniture is going to be depend on whether we keep the hot tub or not..
Landing outside the master bedroom:  I don't know what to do with this slightly awkward space.  Over the summer, I covered it in plants and we had a little bistro table out here.

Planter outside our window... clearly taken over the summer
Rooftop Deck:  This could be a sitting area, a place to sunbathe, or a place to dine.  We haven't decided how we want to use the space, so picking out furniture has been a bit tricky.  I sort of had in mind an outdoor sectional, but now I'm not so sure.

It is so hard to find outdoor furniture that is reasonably priced, attractive AND comfortable! Anyone have any good sources?
