Palak Paratha(Spinach bread)
This is very healthy and delicious breakfast. The parathas are rich source of iron and could be served with tea or coriander chutney. These could be a good option to pack in tiffins for school going kids. You can apply some cheese spread on the parathas and fill paneer and vegetables and roll them to form a wrap and then serve.
Makes 10 parathas Preparation Time 20 minutes Ingredients: 2 cups spinach leaves 2 cups wheat flour 2 tbsp desi ghee (clarified butter) 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp red chilli powder(optional) 1 tsp salt Method: Boil spinach leaves in a cup of water for 15 minutes with a 1/2 tsp of salt.Allow to cool. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients along with boiled spinach leaves and knead. Do not drain the water used for boiling spinach, use that in kneading the flour. Mash the leaves with hand so that it mixes with the flour properly. Make 10 balls out of the dough. take a ball and roll it to a small circle. Apply some oil on half of the circle and close like a semi circle. Apply oil on it and again close to get a quarter circle. Roll this to a thin triangular shaped bread. Shallow fry this on a pan so that both sides are golden.Repeat these steps with all the balls to make 10 such parathas. Serve hot. related searches : Palak
