Paneer and Capsicum Stir Fry
Paneer-capsicum stir fry is a healthy protein rich dish. It is very easy, quick and simple to cook. Protein is essential in building muscles, restoring and replacing tissues and maintaining a healthy and hormonal system. A healthy and active person need 0.8 - 1gm protein per k.g. of his/her ideal body weight. If his/her weight is 65 kg, the requirement of protein is 52-65gm. Therefore include protein in your food from various sources. Milk is an excellent source of Protein. The best way to take milk is in its soured form, which is yogurt and cottage cheese or paneer. Soured milk is superior to sweet milk as it is in a predigested form and more easily assimilated. Nutritional value of paneer: Amount: 25gm to 30gm, Proteins: 4.5gm, CHO: 0.3gm, Fats: 5.5gm, Na : 50mg. Here is the recipe. Ingredients: Paneer : 1 cup cubes Onion large size: 2 Capsicum Red : 2 (or green) Tomatoes 2 big size Curry leaves :2-3 Ginger paste : 2 tsp Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp Red chilly powder : 2 tsp Corindar powder : 4 tsp Jeera 1 tsp Garam masala : 1/2 tsp Whole red chilli : 2-3 pieces Coriander leaves : few Oil Salt Method: Cut the paneer into cubes. Deseed the tomatoes and capsicums. Chop onions, tomatoes and capsicums into medium size pieces. Now heat oil in a kadai, add Red chilli, curry leaves and onion Stir fry the onion for few seconds. Add all the ingredients except paneer and stir fry for a minute. Cover a lid and cook them on a low flame. Cook till the vegetables become soft Now add paneer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from fire and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapati, puri, paratha, roti, bread, rice or dosa.
